GALETES DE HALLOWEEN – HALLOWEEN COOKIES

Avís: durant un temps algunes de les meves publicacions no estaran traduïdes al anglès en el moment de penjar-les. Per tal de posar-me al dia amb els posts (ja veieu que avui penjo un de halloween) de moment els penjaré en català i els aniré traduint a poc a poc.  Sé que últimament sembla atemptar contra la catalanitat el fet de celebrar una cosa tan americana com el Halloween.. però la veritat és que aquest any m’ho vaig passar molt bé fent aquestes galetes... malauradament no vaig aconseguir ningú que fes panellets amb mi.. però la meva gran amiga Laura em va acompanyar en l’elaboració d’aquestes magnífiques galetes. A més s’ha d’acceptar que... el tema dels morts vivents és molt més ampli que no part les castanyes i els moniatos.. jejeje

La recepta de les galetes la vaig extreure de “El Rincón de Bea, www.el rincondebea.com “ tot afegint-hi una mica d’extracte d’ametlla. Aviso que la massa dóna per moooltes galetes i que... cal passar molt de temps a la cuina per a fer-les. Barrejar la massa no és tant complicat.. però... estendre-la, fer la forma, fornejar, tornar a estendre la resta, refredar a la nevera, tornar a fer formes i fornejar acaba essent un procés llarg quan es fa amb tanta massa. Recomano que tot el procés es faci amb dos o tres dies. Un o dos dies per fer la massa i fornejar les galetes i un altre dia per tota la part de la glassa... perquè realment no dóna temps de fer-ho tot alhora. I a part s’ha de deixar reposar les coses perquè surtin més bones...

 

 

La segona part de la recepta, la de la glassa real la he tret del blog de Maria Lunarillos. En el nostre cas la Laura i jo vam fer la glassa amb albúmina d’ou. La veritat és que surt bona i és efectiva. Cal tenir en compte quanta glassa necessitarem i recordar que per cada color segurament haurem d’acabar fent dos tipus de glassa.. una més espessa per delinear i l’altre més líquida per omplir. No teníem prou boquilles per tants colors així que vam acabar utilitzant bosses de plàstic i foradant la punta. Funciona bé, però s’ha de anar amb compte de no apretar massa... (el terra, els meus mitjons i els meus pantalons en van ser testimonis... el negre i jo no érem gaire amics).

 

Esperem que us hagin agradat les nostres galetes... teníem moltes idees per fer moltes coses però potser millor deixar-ne unes quantes per l’any vinent?? Visiteu el blog de la Laura que és molt xulo... fa unes coses de scrap maquíssimes i té molt gust per la decoració!  

 

 

Estic segura que tots els familiars i amigues que m’han vist aquests dies han estat molt contents amb els seus regalets de Halloween... i ben mirat... tampoc s’han queixat gaire que no fossin castanyes i panellets ;-)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SOFÀS QUE INCITEN AL DESCANS... LET’S MAKE SOME SOFFING

Com reconvertir un pastís... la veritat és que aquest pastís va començar amb mal peu... per començar eren dos... un que no sabia com fer... i l’altre que no sabia què fer...

How to transform a cake? This one started on the wrong foot. At the beggining there were two cakes: I didn’t know how to make one and I didn’t know what to make for the other.

Havia de fer un pastís-sofà per un amic de la meva mare, és el seu aniversari i li regalaven els diners per comprar-se un sofà.. així que els seus amics van decidir fer-li un pastís acompanyant els diners per fer-ho tot una mica menys fred... i jo... per complicar-ho una mica més vaig decidir fer un sofà amb un compartiment secret que contingués els diners per al sofà de veritat.

It had to be a sofa cake for a friend of my mother. It is his birthday and his friends are giving him money so he can buy a new sofa. So they decided to order a matching cake to make the situation a little less cold. I decided myself to complicate things more and I decided to make a sofa with a secret compartment where they could store the money for the real sofa.

 

 

 

El problema és que.. un cop fet el disseny, comprades les coses i començat el pastís (només faltava forrar de fondant) el amic es va posar malalt.. el sopar no es va fer... i el pastís es va anular (ho sento Toni però t’has quedat sense pastís)... així que com havia de fer un pastís (que encara no sabia de quina forma) per al cap de dos dies vaig decidir reutilitzar aquest “maleït sofà”...

The problem was that once I had designed the cake, bought the ingredients and started baking it, my mother’s friend got ill. As a consequence, the birthday dinner got cancelled and so did the cake. So there I was: with a half-baked cake and a pending cake to bake (the shape of which was yet to be chosen). I decided to take advantadge of the situation and transform this “damn sofa”.

 

 

La reconversió no ha estat fàcil.. i amb una mica de imaginació he aconseguit quadrar una mica les temàtiques.. i és que... una senyora de fer feines bé que es mereix un gran descans en un sofà el dia del seu aniversari no?? Jejejje..

Així que... moltes felicitats Mercedes.. espero que gaudeixis del teu sofà!!! J

The transformation was not easy, but with a little imagination I got it to make sense with the new cake’s theme. I thought our cleaning lady deserved a nice rest in a sofa on her birthday!

TENIR MOLTA CARA – FACE TO FACE

Després de passar una setmana sencera tancada a la cuina fent tres pastissos per a la família vaig jurar i perjurar que durant la següent setmana no faria res més. Demanaria cada dia menjar per emportar i fugiria de casa a la mínima que pogués.. evidentment però.. no ho vaig complir.

After a whole week locked up in the kitchen baking three cakes for my family I swore I wouldn’t do anything the week after. I would order takeaway every day and spend as much time out the house as possible. Obviously I didn’t keep the promise I had made to myself.

El mateix dilluns vaig anar a dinar amb unes excompanyes d’escola.. (què raro que se’m fa dir això) i vaig acabar liada altre cop en el món de la pastisseria, però... com em podia resistir? Si és que.. quan una amiga et diu que li vol preparar un pastís especial a una gran amiga seva i a més et presenta tot de idees molt divertides.. doncs... una no es pot resistir.. ben mirat.. ara que encara “no tinc escola”.. he d’aprofitar per fer tot el que pugui per Handmade, no?

On Monday I had lunch with a few ex classmates from my school, and they ended up getting me to bake again. However, how could I resist? My friend wanted a special cake for a friend of hers and she had brilliant ideas. On the bright side, I am not working now, so I guess I have to work on my Handmade products as much as I can!

Doncs d’aquí ha sorgit aquest pastís tant original i especial. Felicitats Miriam, la teva amiga Eva sempre et deixa per els núvols! J . Moltes felicitats per doble partida

ELS NOUS DUDUS!! MANTETES!! – BABY SECURITY BLANKETS

M’agrada crear nous projectes, agafar el ganxet i provar de transformar idees que trobo per internet tot fent-les una mica més meves. Fa poc vaig veure unes fotos maquíssimes d’unes mantetes infantils que em van deixar bastant k.o.. així que.. tot barrejant diferents patrons i inventant-ne alguns altres  vaig aconseguir crear les meves pròpies mantetes.

I like creating new projects, grabbing the crotchet hook and trying to transofrm the ideas I find online in order to make them “mine”. Recently I saw some pictures of baby security blankets that knocked me out! So by mixing different patterns and creating new ones I made my own blankets.

 

De moment he fet tres models, però la veritat és que les possibilitats són infinites i a mesura que la gent del meu voltant comenci a tenir nens i nenes segur que els models també aniran creixent. El quadrat original el vaig aprendre a fer a través de la pàgina web (yarnberry, first principles: the humble crochet square) però a partir d’aquí, encara que m’hagi inspirat en alguna foto de google la veritat és que els patrons els he anat creant a poc a poc.

I have made three models so far, but the truth is the possibilities are boundless and as people around me start having children I’m sure the number of patterns will grow. I learned to make the basic pattern from the website Yarnberry, first principles: the humble crochet square. However, I have created the patterns step by step myself,  finding some inspiration in some Google images.

 

Després de provar de fer l’astronauta em vaig endinsar en el drac. Sant Jordi sempre ha esta tuna gran inspiració, així que ja tinc la meva manteta per una diada tant especial. El que m’ha costat més aconseguir és pensar com fer la manta de manera que aquesta fos fàcil de rentar. Al final, com porta una bola a dins del cap, he acabat fent aquest una mica obert per el darrera (per poder treure la bola) i  segellant-ho tot amb una cinta elàstica. A sota de la manteta hi ha cosit (i recosit) un botó molt gran per tal d’enganxar a allà la goma elàstica i que aquesta no molesti al nen.

After trying to make the astronaut I went for the dragon. St George has always been a great inspiration to me, so now I have a blanket for that special day. The main problem was thinking how to make a blanket that was easy to wash. Since it has a ball inside the head, I cut a hole on it so the ball can be taken out. I sealed it all with an elastic rubber. Underneath the blanket there’s a sewed button for the rubber to be attached to, so it doesn’t bother the child.

 

 

 

 

Els meus Dudus originals sempre seran els meus preferits.. però he de dir que aquestes mantetes s’estan guanyant un bon lloc en el meu orgull creador. Teniu més idees per a fer noves mantetes?? Vosaltres proposeu que jo intentaré crear-les!! A mesura que les vagi fent aniré postejant les fotos en el facebook! Així que estigueu atents!

My original baby security blankets will always be my favourite. But I have to say that these blankets are earning themselves a place in my creative pride. Do you have any ideas for new blankets? Any suggestions will be accepted, and I will try to make them and post pictures on Facebook.

EL RATONCITO PÉREZ I ELS SEUS ALIATS - “RATONCITO PÉREZ” AND THEIR ALLIES

L’altre dia estava tafanejant en el facebook i vaig veure una entrada molt bonica de “petit-on” sobre aquest ratolí tant mític i em va fer pensar que quan els nens de la casa es fessin grans m’agradaria fer algun projecte relacionat.. casualitats de la vida, la meva mare, al arribar a casa em va proposar un projecte per una amiga seva sobre el mateix ratolí.. així que.. aquí va el meu pack ratolí Pérez per quan s’apropi aquesta època.

I recently saw on Facebook a post by the blog “petit-on” about Ratoncito Pérez, the Spanish equivalent to the Tooth Fairy. I thought I would like to do something similar for when the children surrounding me grow older. And what a coincidence: when my mum got home, she suggested me to do a project for a friend of hers about this faboulous mouse. So here is my Ratoncito Pérez pack!

Per començar m’agradaria agafar dues idees del blog que abans he anomenat, sempre tenen molt bones idees i us recomano ferventment que el visiteu! Per introduir el tema explicar un conte sempre està bé i després m’ha agradat molt la idea de muntar una petita caseta i porteta en algun lloc de la casa perquè el ratolí pugui entrar a buscar les dents. A mi particularment, crec que em semblaria interessant que la caseta portés un cartell per indicar quin ratolí pot entrar a casa.. no sigui que els altres rosegadors agafin la mateixa idea per entrar per aquesta porta màgica.. així que en el nostre cabàs afegeixo un cartell i  dues cintes de washi tape.

As a start I would like to take two ideas from the blog I previously named. They always have excellent ideas and I strongly recommend that you visit it! I think telling a story is always a good way to start, and I really liked the idea of assembling a little house with a door somewhere in the house so the mouse can come in and get the teeth. I personally would find it funny that the house had a poster with Ratoncito Pérez’s name in it, just in case all the other mice decide to enter the house through that magic door! So I will add a poster and two washi tapes in the pack.

 

 

 

L’amiga de la meva mare tenia per al seu fill gran una espècie de bosseta en forma de ratolí ideal per guardar la dent quan aquesta caigui.. és molt interessant ja que.. quan esta a punt de caure, el nen pot portar la bosseta i així guardar-la perquè aquesta pugui arribar fins al coixí.. he decidit fer la meva pròpia versió de feltre d’aquest ratolí.. sempre podem fer la versió ratolina.. perquè no pot ser una Sra. Pérez?  Jjejeje

The son of my mum’s friend had a mouse-shaped bag to keep the tooth when it falls. It’s an interesting idea, since the kid can carry the bag around before the tooth falls and be always ready. I decided to make my own version of this bag – and the female version is always available!

 

 

Una altre versió que es pot fer d’aquest guarda-dents és aquesta altre versió ou kinder i ganxet.. mm... em permet unir dues grans passions... menjar ous kinders mentre faig ganxet així que boto per aquesta opció ;-) la idea la he tret de la italiana“Besenseless” a on també es poden trobar molts altres animals que penso intentar quan tingui una mica de temps.

Another possible version of this tooth-storer is this crocheted “kinder surprise” egg. It allows me to join two great passions: to crochet while I eat kinder surprise eggs. I got this idea from “Besenseless”, when you can also find many other animals I am willing to try whenever I have time.

 

 

 

Finalment, la última versió disponible també és la més americanitzada. Jejeej. Versió anglesa del meu ratolí Pérez... amb castell inclòs. Aquí s’acaba la meva secció dentífrica... amb la mania que els tinc jo als dentistes!! jajjaaj

Finally, the last version of my Pérez mouse is this “american version”. This is the Toth Fairy ...with her castle. This is my last toth project (for now)... I hope I will don’t need any of this for me because I can’t stand going to the dentist!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

EXPERIMENTANT A LA CUINA... - EXPERIMENTING IN THE KITCHEN...

El fet de convertir-me en la pastissera oficial de la família és molt guai. M’ha donat la oportunitat d’experimentar amb el fondant, millorar les meves “arts plàstiques” i la meva creativitat-imaginació.. el problema potser.. ha estat que tant de temps a la cuina fent pastissos també ha fet que oblidés el meu objectiu inicial.. aprendre a fer cupcakes, magdalenes, muffins i tot tipus diferents de delícies culinàries.

Being the official baker of the family is really cool. It gave me a chance to experiment with fondant, and to improve my “plastic arts”, my creativity and my imagination. Maybe the only problem has been that spending so much time in the kitchen baking cakes has made me forget my initial goal: learn how to make cupcakes, muffins and all kinds of delicatessen.

Ara però, he decidit posar-hi remei i provar noves receptes. Així que poc a poc aniré intentant trobar noves receptes.. potser el problema.. serà trobar a qui se les mengi? Voluntaris??

Currently, however, I have decided to try new recipes. I will do so step by step. Maybe the problem is finding someone to eat them... Any volunteers?

 

 

 

Per començar aquí teniu els meus primers “blueberry muffins” sempre els havia volgut provar de fer.. així que ... la recepta l’ha he tret de : “ ENTRE CUPCAKES Y GALLETAS”

PITETS PREPARATS PER LA REVOLUCIÓ

Com molts sabeu fa molt de temps vaig decidir treballar en l’educació dels més petits. Concretament en l’educació dels nens de 0 a 3 anys. Per això.. estic fent tot el possible per poder entrar a treballar d’una manera regular en les escoles bressol municipals de Barcelona, que és la ciutat en la que visc. El problema, però, és que sembla que l’actual govern no hi creu gaire en elles i poc a poc en els últims anys les ha anat desintegrant.

As many of you will know a long time ago I decided to work on young children’s education, specifically pre-school education (0-3 years old). That’s why I’m trying to find a stable job in a municipal nursery in Barcelona, the city I live in. However, the current government doesn’t seem to believe in them much and has shut down many of them over the recent years.

Per això, el meu post d’avui va dedicat a tot d’articles que estic fent relacionats amb la defensa de la petita infància, perquè... per raons òbvies, ells no poden participar gaire en aquesta lluita i per això ens toca a tots nosaltres. Hem de lluitar per ells i per nosaltres, i perquè no.. també per el que vindran.

For that reason, today’s post is for all my Handmade products made for the young ones’ defence, because, for obvious reasons, they can’t fight this war and we need to fight for them. We have to fight for them, for us and for those to come.

Fa pena que un model tan bonic com el que tenia la nostre ciutat estigui morint d’aquesta manera tant tonta. L’augment de ratios, la disminució del suport educatiu i la privatització de les escoles em temo que només és el principi del pla “anti-escoles-bressol” que sembla estar a tota vela. no m’agradaria haver de marxar de Barcelona només perquè uns ... creuen que la petita infància no es mereix un entorn educatiu en condicions.

It’s a shame that the great education plans that Barcelona used to have are degrading in such a way. The increase in the ratio, the dicrease in education support and the privatization of schools are, I’m afraid, only the beggining of this “anti-nursery” plan that seems to be at full sail. I wouldn’t like to leave my city only because a bunch of ... think that the youngest children don’t deserve to be educated properly.

Les londoners dolls es preparen per a l’hivern

Doncs si, comença a arribar el fred i les meves Londoners Dolls volen estar a la última.. així que els he començat a adaptar els gorros, bufandes, jerseis i pantalons al nou clima que s’acosta.

Winter is coming, and my Londoner Dolls are always in vogue. I started making hats, scarfs, jumpers and pants for their size.

Crec que d’aquí poc podrem començar a presentar-nos a la passarel·la gaudí o a alguna d’aquestes.. perquè entre les grans models que tinc i les idees que em venen al cap per fer... ja es poden preparar els grans dissenyadors.

I think soon enough we will be able to attend a fashion catwalk, because my “models” are giving me great creation ideas. Brace yourselves, big designers!

 

Aprofito també per ensenyar-vos alguns models de londoner i dir-vos que es poden fer a gust del consumidor.. al igual que també es poden fer els gorros o bufandes que els faig per a adults o nens per tal de anar a joc ;-) .

1, 2, 3.... FELICITATS GEMMA! – 1, 2, 3... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GEMMA!

Finalitzem la setmana pastissera amb un aniversari agredolç.. que la teva cosina petita faci 18 anys.. només et demostra que .. tu ja fa temps que els vas fer J

A bittersweet thought to end the baking week: the fact that my youngest cousin just turned 18 only proves that I was that age a long time ago J

Després del xoc inicial de l’edat real de la meva cosina arriba l’hora de la celebració.. pensar els regals, què posar-se.. i sobretot.. quin pastís portar... això de convertir-se en la pastissera de la família comporta les seves “obligacions” i deures ;-)

After the initial “shock” it was time to celebrate – think of the presents, what to wear and, above all, which cake to bring. Having become the pastry chef of the family implies certain “obligations” and duties!

 

 

 

Hi havia moltes opcions de pastís, la Gemma és una dona molt ocupada i amb uns interessos molt variats... la biologia humana, el teatre, l’escoltisme, el bàsquet, bigues, els gats, els amics, el carnet de conduir que segur que aconseguirà treure’s abans que jo... en fí.. que les possibilitats eren tantes que vaig acabar optant per el típic (encara que és el meu primer) pastís en forma de 18. Això em donava un ventall prou ampli de decoracions per poder-ho intentar posar tot i a més.. al ser doble pastís.. també doble recepta.. no??

There were many cake options, since Gemma is a very busy girl and has a wide range of interests: human biology, theatre, boyscouting, basketball, Bigues, cats, friends, and that driving licence she will surely get before me. The possibilities were so many that I decided to make the typical 18-shaped cake. This choice allowed me to decorate it with several topics. Moreover, double cake means double recipe!

Doncs això, al final el 1 ha acabat fent-se amb la última recepta de coca de iogurt amb virutes de xocolata, buttercream de Nutella i maduixes... mmmm.... i el 8.. doncs el meu incondicional coca de iogurt de xocolata negra, buttercream de xocolata blanca, mermelada de frambuesa i ganatxé de xocolata negra...)... mmm.. em sembla que la xocolata predomina per sobre de tots no??

The recipe for number 1 was the same that the one for the previous cake: yoghurt cake with chocolate and strawberry bits and Nutella buttercream. Yummy! Number 8 was a dark chocolate yoghurt cake with white chocolate buttercream, raspberry jam and dark chocolate ganache. Chocolate was the winning flavour!

Pooooooop - Octopus!

M’agradaria començar a acomiadar-me de l’estiu amb el meu últim amigurumi mariner... el sr pooooop de Calella de Palafrugell.

I would like to say goodbye to the summer with my last sailor amigurimi: Mr. Octopus from Calella de Palafrugell.

Ens hauríeu d’haver vist al meu “ajudant” de fotografia i a mi enfilats per les roques del camí de ronda del golfet a Calella tot fent fotos a un nino de llana.. la gent ens mirava amb cares rares.. el que s’ha de fer per el blog!!!

You should have seen me and my “photography assistant” climbing the rocks next to the “Camí de Ronda” in Calella while taking pictures of a woolen soft toy. People gave us weird looks... But that’s what I got to do for the blog!

 

 

El patró inicial el vaig trobar a molts llocs diferents, però el que més em va agradar va ser el de “http://picapau-yan.blogspot.com.es.” i després de afegir-hi algunes modificacions pròpies.. (com sempre) vaig acabar composant el meu pop propi... no creieu que quedaria molt monu com a decoració en una habitació infantil marinera?? Stupendo!! Jajajaja

I took the pattern from ... and, as always, I made a few changes. Don’t you think it would look nice in a sailor-themed child bedroom? Awesome!

 

 

Aquest nou membre del grup s’ha de dir que em recorda la meva feina.. i per tant també va bé er inaugurar el nou curs escolar... sempre els ensenyava als nens i nenes de la meva classe l’any passat la petita cançoneta del pop.. i els encantava!!!! : Peix, peix, peix... pop pop pop.. peix peix peix.. pop pop pop.. peix... pooooop. S’ha de dir que en algun moment vaig començar també ha ensenyar la versió en anglès d’aquest petit joc de mans.. els pares i mares, però.. em van mirar una  mica raro.. jejeje.. que més volen? Amb mí com a mestra, segur que aprenen idiomes.. perquè m’encanta com sonen algunes paraules en anglès... octopuuuussS! Jajajjajaj

I have to say this new member of the crew reminds me to my work. I used to sing for the kids the octopus song, and they loved it! I also made a version in English, but the parents gave me weird looks when they heard it... I just love the way certain words sound in English: “octopussss”!

 

 

 

1, 2.... FELICITATS IAIA! - 1, 2... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!

La setmana contínua i començo a pensar que la meva iaia està una mica gelosa de tanta atenció cap al petit de la família.. així que .. ens autoconvidem a casa seva a dinar i decidim portar-li un petit pastís per celebrar el seu aniversari que també ha estat durant aquest final d’agost...

As the week goes on I started thinking that maybe my grandma was a bit jealous of the attention paid to the little boy... So we decided to go to her house for lunch and bring a cake to celebrate her birthday, also at the end of August.
 

 

Aquest cop intento fer-lo una mica diferent.. coca de iogurt amb trossets de xocolata i maduixa, buttercream de Nutella, fondant i una nova tècnica.

I tried to make it different this time: yoghurt cake with bites of chocolate and strawberry, Nutella buttercream, fondant and a new technique.

Com ja sabeu la meva iaia és qui em va començar a ensenyar a fer ganxet, tricotar.. etc... d’aquí poc hem decidit que aprendré a fer boixets amb ella.. així que.. perquè no fer-li un pastís de commemoració? Les decoracions no us recorden una mica a tot el tema de les puntes de coixí?? El que he utilitzat es diu màgic decor.

As you probably know, it was my grandma who taught me to crochet and to knit. Soon I will ask her to teach me how to do bobbin lace. This gave me an idea for the cake: the decorations remind me to the end of a pillow. I have used the magic decor technique – you can see how it really works if you look it up on youtube.
 

El problema però... comença quan t’aixeques en un dia d’aquests en els que fa massa calor i xafogor, poses el peu esquerra al terra i tot el que fas et surt malament.  El fondant es desfà, el buttercream és inestable.. i el pitjor.. el màgic decor es trenca i no funciona.. així que al final els plans canvien i de la “puntilla” només en salvo una petita part... no sempre es pot guanyar...

The problem however ... begins when you wake up in one of these days where it's too hot, you put your left foot on the floor and everything goes wrong. The fondant melts, the buttercream is unstable... and what its worst .. the magic decor broke all the time and doesn’t work... At the end I had to change my plans and I just put a little bit of "lace" on a small part ... you can’t always win...

1.... FELICITATS ROC! – HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROC!

Les vacances acaben, torno del meu fantàstic viatge i la realitat em fa balancejar més que no pas el meu petit mareig de terra ferma.. jejeje. S’ha acabat el relax i la bona vida... cal posar-se a la feina... però.. quina millor manera pot ser que fer-ho dolçament i a poc a poc?

Holidays ended, and when I returned from my fantastic trip I ran into reality. My relax is over... It’s time to work ... but… There’s a sweeter way to start than do it slowly?

Doncs si, aprofitant que encara no ha començat la meva “feina real” aquesta setmana m’he dedicat a la part més dolça de la meva vida.. Bueno.. les dues parts més dolces.. la pastisseria i la família. A finals d’estiu és una època de grans aniversaris.. així que a principis de setembre sempre és una època de grans celebracions.

Since my usual job it’s on “hold”, I dedicated this lasts weeks to the sweetest part of my life. .. Well... to the two sweeter parts of my life... cakes and family. Late summer is a full time of great birthdays... so… the beginning of September is always a full time of great celebrations.

 

 

Comença el compte enrere de la setmana tràgica de les dietes amb el primer aniversari del fill de la meva cosina, el Roc.. i quin millor pastís que fer-li que un tractor groc?? A l’estil de bob el manetes però amb un petit toc Handmade by Nita.

I will start my birthday’s countdown with my cousin’s son first anniversary, Roc… and what can be better than a yellow tractor cake? Yes, it’s like “Bob the Builder” but with a little touch of Handmade by Nita.

 

 

 

Coca de iogurt de xocolata blanca, de xocolata negra, buttercream.. en fí.. tots els habituals barrejats i tintats de  fondant de color groc! Ah! I rodes de donuts de xocolata! Tot un èxit i amb un gran final.. aquest cop no n’ha sobrat ni una mica... si és que.. jo no sé fer pastissos petits!!! Sempre ho intento però mai ho aconsegueixo.. sort que érem bastants!! Jejeje.

White chocolate yogurt cake, dark chocolate, buttercream... I mixed all of the usual ingredients and covered it with yellow fondant! Oh! And I added chocolate donut wheels! Spectacular! It was a success. .. And this time it has not exceeded one bit! Yeah, I do not know how to make smaller cakes! I try it every time but never get it... I was lucky we were enough! hehehe

Al principi vam tenir un petit ensurt amb l’espelma, la irresistibilitat del foc i el any de vida.. jejeje.. així que el meu pobre “nebot-valencià” estava una mica reticent d’acostar-se al seu tractor.. però.. com podeu veure a la foto... em sembla que la dolçor del pastís ho va superar tot.. amb quina afició s’hi tirava!!! He trobat el meu millor fan.. i això... sempre és la millor recompensa ;-)

Mixing 1 year and fire it never goes well, so at first we had a little scare with the candle… resulting that Roc was a little hesitant to approach his new truck, but… as you can see, the sweetness of the cake won it all. I think I have found my best fan… and this.. is always the best reward ;-

Finalment m’agradaria demanar perdó per la tardança en aquest post. La meva traductora “oficial” s’ha mudat a Londres d’erasmus i jo intento aprofitar tot el temps possible per muntar la meva petita tenda a Etsy… aquests dies són una mica estranys... així que sento les meves traduccions macarròniques (la meva gramàtica en anglès mai ha estat la meva millor arma) i per anar tant lenta amb els posts... espero tenir bones notícies en breu sobre la tenda!!
