Un pastís per un altre “Leo” - A cake for a “Leo”

M’encantaria dir que aquest pastís tant bonic i especial ha estat fet per “l’autèntic” Leo, però no, sento dir que “de moment” no el conec.. així que m’hauré de conformar en fer-lo per un altre “Leo”.. Bueno.. per el Quico en realitat.. jejeje

I’d love to say this beautiful and special cake has been made for the “true Leo”  However, I haven’t met him yet... So I have to resign myself to bake it for another “Leo”: Quico, actually.

Recordeu el post aquell del pastís del lleó? Doncs, sembla mentida que ja hagí passat un any... però sí.. jejeje.. ha tornat a arribar l’agost i amb ell la calor, la xafogor i les meves hores interminables intentant que el fondant no es fongui a la cuina..

Remember the post about the lion cake? I can’t believe it’s been one year since then! August has arrived again, with heat, sweltering and long hours in the kitchen trying to prevent the fondant from melting.

Doncs això, aquest pastís va per tu Quico, que sempre estàs disposat a menjar els meus intents culinaris, ajudant-me a mantenir la línia.. i que comparteixes grans estones i celebracions al camp celebrant els gols del Barça!! Ara que ja he aconseguit anar ningú no em pararà!!!!

This cake is for you, Quico, a man always willing to eat the food I prepare – helping me stay fit! And also a great celebration partner when we watch Barça games. Now that I’ve started going to Camp Nou no one will stop me!

 

 

Pd: altre Leo, el de veritat .. si vols un pastís tu també només has de demanar-me’l!!! ;-)

Pollo Pepe i Dan Dog

Arriben dos nous amigurumis a la col·lecció... el Pollo Pepe i el Dan Dog

Fa temps que volia incorporar a la meva col·lecció ninos una mica més petits per tal que a l’hora de fer-los la seva relació temps-dedicació / cost fos raonable.

Two new amigurimis have arrived: Pollo Pepe and Dan Dog. I have wanted to include smaller soft toys to my collection, in order to improve the time cost relationship.

Fa temps que quan entro a les botigues tipo Natura m’enamoro de les gàbies blanques d’estil vintage... així que.. perquè no fer un amigurumi que pugui anar a joc amb aquestes fabuloses decoracions?

Every time I go inside a homeware shop like “Natura” I fall in love with vintage white cages. So I thought I’d make a matching amigurimi.

Buscant ocells per internet en vaig trobar un munt.. però el que més em va agradar per la seva senzillesa i possibilitats de variació va ser aquest. El patró el vaig fer tot recol·lectant parts de diferents tutorials i anant transformant-los a mesura que l’anava fent..

I found many bird drawings online. But this was the one I liked the most, because it was simple and it had many possibilities of variation. I made the pattern out of bits of several tutorials and I kept transforming it while I was making it.

Les meravelloses fotos han estat gràcies a la Laura i el Moi.. que els vaig “timar” perquè em fessin de fotògrafs ocasionals.  Jejeje.. GRÀCIES!.. mmm..

I have to thank Laura and Moi for being such wonderful photographers. I kind of tricked them into doing it...

El gos el vaig fer tot seguint el magnífic patró de la pàgina web de “lanasyovillos”. Té molts bons tutorials i m’ha servit en varies ocasions per aprendre com fer algunes parts dels meus amigurumis.

I took the pattern of the dog out of the wonderful website “Lanasyovillos”. It has many good tutorials and it’s been very useful for making some parts of my amigurimis.

Sembla mentida que faci un any que la Roser va arribar... com ja recordareu ella va ser la meva principal inspiració per començar a crear les sabates que van iniciar Handmade by Nita.. així que aquesta data també és bastant important per al blog.

Cal celebrar-ho a “lo grande” així que aquí arriben els seus regals:

I can’t believe it’s been one year since Roser was born... As you know, she was my main inspiration for my first shoes, which were Handmade by Nita’s first product. So this event is quite important for my blog as well. It requires a big celebration, so here are her presents:

Per començar.. en un aniversari no podia faltar un pastís, aquí us presento la seva petita gran creació. L’he intentat fer infantil però a la vegada acceptable per adults.. jejej.. una inspiració de la barreja dels Teletubbies, la Peppa pig i la caseta de Hansel i Gretel.. perquè no barrejar una mica de cada época?

For starters, every birthday needs a cake. This is her little but great creation. I’ve tried to make it childish but suitable for adults as well J. My inspirations were Teletubbies, Peppa pig, and Hansel and Gretel’s chocolate house. Nothing’s wrong in mixing bits from today and bits from the past!

La base és el meu pastís ja habitual, de coca de iogurt, melmelada de frambuesa, buttercream de xocolata blanca, ganatxé de xocolata negra... fondant.. mmmm... i per fer-ho especial i diferent la part de dalt està decorada amb galetes i glassa real... mmmm... altre cop ;) .. he de dir que la figura aquest cop no és comestible, i és que.. volia que tingués alguna cosa que pogués conservar amb el temps.. així que el nino ho serà.

The basis is my usual cake: yoghurt cake, raspberry jam, white chocolate buttercream, dark chocolate ganache, fondant, etc. Yummy! I wanted to make it special, so the top layer is decorated with cookies and royal icing. Yummy again! I have to say that the figure is not edible this time, because I wanted her to have something she could keep for a long time.

També volia fer-li alguna cosa especial.. així que com vaig aprendre a teixir per fer-li les sabates.. perquè no realitzar també el meu primer vestit per ella? El model el vaig treure de la botiga de llanes a la que vaig normalment a comprar: “llanes travessera”.

I also wanted to give her some special present. Since I started knitting in order to make her shoes, I thought it would be great to make my first dress for her. I got the pattern from the wool shop I usually shop at, “Llanes Travessera”.

Moltes felicitats Roser per aquest any tant ple de alegria que ens has proporcionat amb la teva arribada. Moltes felicitats Susana per tenir una nena tant bonica i deixar-me compartir amb tu com es va fent gran. I moltes Felicitats Handmade by Nita, per aquest any i mig de distraccions i aprenentatges que hem viscut juntes.

Happy birthday, Roser, and thank you for this year full of happiness you have given us since you arrived. Congratulations, Susana, for having such a beautiful girl and letting me see her growing up with you. And happy birthday to Handmade by Nita, for this year and a half of distractions and learning we’ve lived together.
